I’ve owned both subaru’s and i now own an Evo 8 MR320, and believe me the evo is a better car….
On sheer performance the subaru (WR1) is probably quicker, but in terms of handling the Evo is a million times better. This is reflected in the times posted by the STIG.
Finally the Subaru downfall is understeer. All of them have suffered from this problem.

I love Subarus, in fact I owned a 2000 RS and, when the STi(2004) came over I bought it that month. But now, after more than 2 years with it I would run over my own mother to get a EVO MR. They win everything. You just can’t deny their speed. All the top japanese drivers who are involved in time-attack use them. Come on Mitsubishi, release the Evo in Canada

the subaru and evo is a close match but being sat in both i’ve been in the subaru and evolution VIII fq-340 and the evo is slightly better u cant argue wiv physics(well u cn but it gets u in trouble!!!!! evos are best!!

wht i think is tht they should test it again with a subaru sti s203/ 204 with the evo 8mr fq. atleast it would be a fair fight. if not thy should use a stock evo8 and a stock sti. thn we’ll see which is better… as for me i own both of this cars so it depends… cos i love both of tis cars…cheers…

Evos are still the best. they have the best platform when it comes to fast road/ rally cars.

They are both sweet cars, but it looks like the EVO does beat the STI in handling, and has more models to pick from. (I like that part the best!)
